It’s an unbeatable and exciting combination and will bring outstanding performance at no compromise!
Valar DT45 and Valar DT45D disc version rims made by Toray T800 carbon fiber. Our engineers optimized the rim carbon layup, they designed the high tensile strength carbon fiber at the most crucial points to provide rims stiffness. They use thinner prepregs for better control over the layup, which make the same wall thickness but come with more layers, and bring a lighter weight with better stiffness. Zero-coating design on carbon products surface is a top-notch and difficult technology, unquestionably it’s a trend on high-end carbon products! Actually, just only a few factories have mastered the technology! Zero-coating technology shows the fine fiber structure of the carbon rim giving each wheel an individual touch and reducing the rim weight. Valar DT series rims made by zero-coating technology on marbling surface, it saves about 15g per rim, but we paint clear coating on 25% surface, and the rest of the area keep marbling carbon fiber same as it came out of the mold. We think this design looks more beautiful and different. In conclusion, our 45mm depth Valar DT45 rim’s weight can be controlled in 450g+/-15g and DT45D disc rims in 438+-15g; it is a perfect weight!
All Orome Valar rim braking wheels bring textured brake surface design, combined with our high-temperature resistant resin system, which enhances the rim’s overall durability and braking performance! The grooved track helps move water and debris more quickly out of the way between the brake pads and rim and also provides additional edges that add friction, allowing the pad to better grip the braking surface. The high-temperature resistant resin construction ensures the track can withstand over 280°C, and when combined with the grooved track, it can handle extreme temperatures better and dissipate heat build-up away from the pads more effectively.
It’s time to talk about the hubs and spokes. We developed the Orome Valar DT series wheels by DT Swiss hubs and Sapim spokes. The two brands are the leading experts in the wheel field, and they are professional and reliable. We believe no one would reject such excellent parts in their wheels! Valar DT series assembled the latest generation of the DT 240 hub on rim brake version and disc brake version. The latest 240S ratchet EXP freehub system increases the bearing lifetime thanks to the increased bearing distance. The new version of the end caps simplifies the tool-free disassembly and makes maintenance easier. The hollow-machined ratchets transfer the energy invested directly into acceleration thanks to the 36 teeth. The spokes of Valar DT series are Sapim CX-Ray—the best aerodynamic elliptic spoke, made of fatigue-resistant 18/8 stainless steel. Almost as light as titanium, they said the CX-Ray still receives one of the best results in fatigue testing of any spoke. Its unique strength and flexibility make the CX-Ray suitable for top-level bicycle wheels.
Tubeless compatible, all of Orome Valar wheels are designed to work with tubeless tires from most manufacturers. They feature bead seat retention, reinforced carbon hooks, and a 19mm width internal rim bed that ensures wider compatibility. Tubeless systems can run at lower pressures than tube systems without any negative effects. You’ll need a floor pump and the tubeless rim tape to install the tubeless tire on our wheels. We didn’t seal the spoke holes because our engineer thinks it will be easy to replace the spoke in some cases. If you’re not ready for tubeless, Valar wheels are also compatible with traditional clincher tires and tubes.
